Filters and Transitions

Visual filters are prepackaged effects behavior that allow Web authors to easily apply visual effects to their content.

Transitions are time-varying filters that create a change from one visual state to another.

By combining filters and transitions with basic scripting, authors have a powerful tool for creating visually engaging and interactive documents.

Visual filters and transitions are currently supported only in Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 4.0 and later, but are part of the proposed extensions to the Cascading Style Sheet ( CSS2 ) specification.
